A frozen expedition like no other! Embark on a journey of a lifetime as we experience the Arctic wilderness. We have designed an immersive program that will fill your appetite for adventure. From snowmobiles, husky/reindeer sled rides, floating in a frozen sea, ice fishing, go-karting and walking on soft snow, northern lights hunt, and sleeping in an Invisible Forest cabin, allow us to show you what it's like to escape from the ordinary.
After landing in the afternoon, meet your local guide and transfer to the safari office. Here, get equipped with full winter gear including a thermal snowsuit, boots, gloves, and socks to keep you warm throughout the trip.
This morning, depart on a scenic drive to Korouoma Nature Reserve, a spectacular canyon known for its dramatic ice waterfalls. Descend into the gorge with a local guide and explore the frozen wilderness on a short hike. Enjoy a picnic lunch surrounded by Lapland’s snow-covered forest. Afterward, continue hiking along the canyon trails before returning to Rovaniemi. In the evening, head out for a magical dinner in Aurora Domes, with a chance to spot the Northern Lights if conditions allow.
After breakfast, visit the Arctic Circle and Drive to the traditional village of “Santa Claus,” the familiar figure of Lapland associated with Christmas, and get a chance to meet Santa and send postcards from the Arctic post office. Continue to a traditional reindeer farm and get to know the lifestyles and customs of this animal, which lives in extreme conditions and is an integral part of the lives of the locals. Try your hand at ice fishing and participate in this memorable experience ourselves. And also enjoy a hearty lunch served by the local host. Next, visit a husky farm, where we will receive a customary welcome and learn about the methods used in their upbringing and training. And then, embark on a thrilling husky safari, riding a sled pulled by eager huskies through snow trails. Return to your hotel to unwind in the sauna and hot pools before a cozy dinner.
Proceed and check-out after breakfast and begin the day with a visit to the Ranua Wildlife Park. The park was established in 1983 and has about 55 species of wild animals and birds living in their natural habitat. Predators, mammals, and birds are scattered along the spectacularly beautiful route, about 2,500 meters long. We will see rare wild animals that have adapted to the arctic climate of Lapland; among others, we will see the white polar bear. Next, enjoy lunch at a local café before crossing the border into Sweden (note the time zone change). Arrive in Haparanda and check-in to your hotel.
This morning, transfer to Axelsvik to board a powerful ice breaker ship. Cruise across the frozen sea, and for the brave- float in the icy waters in a special thermal suit with the help of special thermal suits provided by the skilled boat’s crew. After disembarking, continue to the riverside of Kukkolaforsen. Enjoy
a traditional Swedish lunch and explore the village’s unique culture. Cross back into Finland and travel through scenic Arctic landscapes to Levi. Check-in and relax before dinner.
Start the day with an adventurous snowmobile safari through the frozen wilderness. We will ride two people per snowmobile through the frozen landscape of Lapland in the spectacular Levi region. Sections of this journey will pass across a frozen river and lake and through endless snowy forests. Ride across lakes
and snowy forests, stopping for some traditional ice fishing. After the safari, head to the mountain top Panorama Restaurant for lunch with a view. Continue to Samiland for an educational visit and an authentic Joiku performance – the traditional music of the Sami People. Return to Levi for free time and dinner.
This morning, travel to the impressive Lainio Snow Village, where every structure is made entirely of snow and ice. Afterwards, transfer to Immeljarvi and meet your local guide for a snowshoe walk through the surrounding snowy terrain. Later, enjoy lunch at a cozy restaurant in Levi village. In the afternoon, get your adrenaline pumping with ice karting and snowtubing. Conclude the day with a special dinner at Saamen Kammi, a traditional Sami-style restaurant built into the earth.
Check out and tranasfer back to Rovaniemi. Before your departure, visit the Arktikum Museum to discover more about life in the Arctic Circle in general and the Rovaniemi region in particular, the “Northern Lights” phenomena, and the seasonal changes in the flora and fauna.
